Dr. Walter N. Rabhan has been with our practice since it began in 1972. He received his medical degree from Medical College of Georgia and was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then moved to New York, NY and later St. Louis, MO to complete his internship and residency. After he completed his training, he served in Vietnam as an Orthopedic Surgeon in the U.S. Air Force and was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service.
He began his orthopedic surgery practice in Richmond in 1972 with Dr. Bernard Lublin. The practice was originally called Henrico Orthopedic Associates. In the mid 1980’s the name was changed to Tuckahoe Orthopaedic Associates.
Dr. Rabhan has now been with the practice for 40 years and works part-time as a non-operating orthopedist. He treats all types of general orthopedic problems and has a special interest in spine problems. Many of his patients benefit from conservative treatments. If surgery is required, he will refer his patients to one of his partners.
“I have always strived to treat my patients as I would like to be treated…with care, concern, competence and compassion.”
Dr. Rabhan grew up in Savannah, Georgia….and enjoyed playing sports in his youth. His basketball talent later earned him a scholarship to University of Florida. He was inducted into the Savannah Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.
He is married and has three children and eight grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, reading, traveling, and visiting with his grandchildren.
