Foot & Ankle

This orthopaedic subspecialty focuses on the care of patients with musculoskeletal conditions affecting the foot and ankle. This includes treating deformity or degenerative conditions of the forefoot, midfoot, hindfoot, and ankle as well as traumatic and sports related injuries such as fractures, sprains, or tendon injuries. Nonsurgical treatment will be utilized when possible, but in cases in which surgical correction is necessary, the latest techniques in reconstructive and arthroscopic surgery will be employed in an effort to get patients back on their feet as efficiently as possible.

Our foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. Truitt Cooper, treats common conditions and deformities affecting the feet as well as more complex problems of the ankle joint. He has been fellowship trained in arthroscopy, reconstructive surgery and total ankle replacement techniques.

Common foot and ankle conditions and deformities treated by Dr. Truitt Cooper include*:

  • bunions, bunionettes
  • crossover toes, hammertoes
  • arthritic conditions
  • fractures
  • ligament and tendon injuries
  • nerve entrapment, neuromas
  • deformities secondary to arthritis, trauma, or tendon dysfunction
  • disorders of the Achilles tendon
  • work-related injuries
